Albert Owen MP-AS|Ynys Mon / Ynys Môn

Albert Owen

I have been a Member of Parliament for Anglesey since 2001. I was born to William and Doreen on 10 August 1959 and attended Holyhead County Comprehensive School before joining the Merchant Navy in 1976.

Before becoming an MP I gained a diploma in industrial relations in 1994 and a degree in politics from the University of York in 1997. During this time I also worked as a welfare and employment advisor, first for the Citizens' Advice Bureau and then for Anglesey County Council.

I am a member of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee and married to Angela with whom I have two daughters.

Outside parliament I have an active interest in preserving Ynys Mon's beautiful natural environment.  I enjoy sport and have run in the London Marathon.
