Catherine Fookes | Monmouth / Trefynwy

Catherine is Assembly Member Candidate for the Monmouth Constituency. She’s a freelance Campaign Manager for the Organic Trade Board, has lived in the constituency for 15 years and has two sons.

Catherine has lots of energy and new ideas and she’d like to give communities in the Monmouth constituency a louder, stronger voice at the Assembly. Her priorities are education, the NHS, job creation and housing.

She’s worked at ActionAid as a campaigner on Food and Education and at Sustain on a national campaign to improve support for organic farmers in the UK as well as the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Abergavenny Food Festival. She’s a member of the Food and Drink Wales Industry Board aiming to grow sales of Welsh food and drink by 30% by 2020 and is a school governor.

She has a degree in French and European Business Studies and a Masters in Development Studies.


Mae Catherine yn Ymgeisydd y Cynulliad ar gyfer Etholaeth Mynwy. Mae’n Rheolwr yr Ymgyrch ar gyfer y Bwrdd Masnachu Organig, mae wedi byw yn yr etholaeth am 15 mlynedd ac mae ganddi ddau fab.

Mae gan Catherine lawer o egni a syniadau newydd a hoffai roi llais uwch, cryfach i gymunedau yn etholaeth Mynwy yn y Cynulliad.  Ei blaenoriaethau yw addysg, y GIG, creu swyddi a thai.

Mae wedi gweithio yn ActionAid fel ymgyrchydd ar Fwyd ac Addysg ac yn Sustain ar ymgyrch cenedlaethol i wella cefnogaeth i ffermwyr organig yn y DU yn ogystal ag Ardal o Harddwch Naturiol Eithriadol Dyffryn Gwy a Gŵyl Fwyd y Fenni.  Mae’n aelod o Fwrdd Diwydiant Bwyd a Diod Cymru sy’n ceisio cynyddu gwerthiannau bwyd a diod Cymru 30% erbyn 2020 ac mae’n llywodraethwr ysgol.

Mae ganddi radd mewn Ffrangeg ac Astudiaethau Busnes Ewropeaidd a Gradd Meistr mewn Astudiaethau Datblygu.
