David Taylor | Candidate, North Wales / Ymgeisydd, Gogledd Cymru

David is Labour's candidate for North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner.

He was brought up in North Wales and educated at Ysgol Brynhyfryd in Ruthin, his local Welsh medium school.

David spent five years working for Labour in the Welsh Assembly before being appointed Special Adviser to Peter Hain as Secretary of State for Wales.

After a decade of working in politics David decided he wanted some different experience, and after an executive study programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology he co-founded a cyber security business in Wales which was acquired last year by investors. The challenges of running an organisation are significant, but he will draw on this experience as your candidate for Commissioner.

More recently David has worked internationally, advising those working to extradite former FIFA vice president Jack Warner to the USA on corruption charges.

David ydi ymgeisydd Llafur ar gyfer Comisiynydd Heddlu a Throsedd Gogledd Cymru.

Derbyniwyd David ei addysg yn Ysgol Brynhyfryd, yr ysgol gyfrwng Cymraeg lleol.

Treuliodd David bum mlynedd yn gweithio i Lafur yn y Cynulliad cyn cael ei benodi fel Ymgynghorydd Arbennig i Peter Hain, Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cymru.

Ar ôl degawd o weithio mewn gwleidyddiaeth, penderfynodd David ei fod eisiau profiad gwahanol, ac ar ôl astudio rhaglen gweithredol yn y Massachusetts Institute of Technology cyd-sefydlodd fusnes diogelwch seiber yng Nghymru a gafodd ei gaffael y llynedd gan fuddsoddwyr. Mae heriau rhedeg sefydliad yn sylweddol, ac bydd yn gallu manteisio ar y profiad hyn fel eich ymgeisydd ar gyfer y Comisiynydd.

Yn fwy diweddar mae David wedi gweithio'n rhyngwladol, gan gynghori y rhai sy'n gweithio i estraddodi cyn is-lywydd FIFA, Jack Warner, i’r UDA ar daliadau o lygredd.
