Jason McLellan | North Wales / Gogledd Cymru

Jason McLellan is a County Councillor in Denbighshire. He has a background as a Legal Aid solicitor. Over many years he often represented the most vulnerable, such as victims of domestic violence, those facing family breakdown and parents of children in the care system. Jason understands the difficulties people face day to day.

Jason is Chair of Denbighshire’s Corporate Governance Committee and deputy leader of the opposition Labour Group. He also sits on the county’s Tackling Poverty Group. As a councillor Jason has a strong record of leading on local campaigns, and in his role as Chair of Governance has challenged and led effective scrutiny of the Denbighshire leadership, particularly on budget issues. He has led on improving member involvement in challenging cuts decisions which impact on our communities and for a more transparent and open budget setting process.

Jason currently works for a Member of the Welsh Assembly and has an insight in to the workings of the Assembly. He has previously worked for a Member of Parliament. 

 “If elected I would seek investment in sustainable employment and improvements to the infrastructure of North Wales. I believe that working families and those less well-off should not bear the brunt of austerity, and I would campaign for Welsh Assembly policies that addressed their concerns”


Mae Jason McLellan yn Gynghorydd Sir yn Sir Ddinbych. Mae ganddo gefndir fel cyfreithiwr Cymorth Cyfreithiol. Dros sawl blwyddyn bu’n cynrychioli’r mwyaf agored i niwed, fel dioddefwyr trais domestig, y rheiny sy’n wynebu’r teulu’n chwalu a rhieni plant yn y system ofal. Mae Jason yn deall yr anawsterau y mae pobl yn eu hwynebu o ddydd i ddydd.

Jason yw Cadeirydd Pwyllgor Llywodraethu Corfforaethol Sir Ddinbych a dirprwy arweinydd Grŵp Llafur yr wrthblaid. Mae hefyd yn eistedd ar Grŵp Trechu Tlodi’r sir.  Fel cynghorydd, mae gan Jason enw da yn arwain ymgyrchoedd lleol, ac mae ei rôl fel Cadeirydd Llywodraethu wedi herio ac arwain gwaith craffu effeithiol yn ymwneud ag arweinyddiaeth Sir Ddinbych, yn arbennig materion cyllidebol. Mae wedi arwain y gwaith o wella cyfranogiad aelodau yn herio penderfyniadau’n ymwneud â thoriadau sy’n effeithio ar ein cymunedau ac am broses fwy tryloyw ac agored o osod cyllidebau.

Ar hyn o bryd, mae Jason yn gweithio i Aelod o Gynulliad Cymru ac mae wedi cael cipolwg ar wneuthuriad y Cynulliad.  Yn flaenorol, bu’n gweithio i Aelod Seneddol.
