Jo Stevens is the Labour MP for Cardiff Central, having been elected in the 2015 General Election.
She was state educated and graduated from Manchester University in 1988.
Prior to entering Parliament, Jo was a solicitor and Director of Thompsons Solicitors, a UK-wide law firm dedicated to representing trade union members and others injured or mistreated at work.
Jo is a campaigner and internationalist, with a particular interest in the protection of human rights, and is actively involved in the NGO Justice for Colombia, campaigning on behalf of Colombian trade unionists and human rights defenders.
She is also a member of GMB and Unison unions, the Fabian and Haldane societies and the Cooperative Party.
Outside Parliament, Jo enjoys theatre, good books and real ale. She is also an avid follower of many sports, is a season ticket holder at Cardiff City FC, a member of Glamorgan County Cricket Club and a supporter of Cardiff Blues.
She is a mother of two and lives in Roath.
