Marc Tierney | Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire / Ngorllewin Caerfyrddin a De Sir Benfro

Marc Tierney grew up in Carmarthenshire and is proud to be standing for his home constituency of Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.

He lived for a time in Ireland before studying at University in Bristol before returning home to West Wales to take up a management role at Radio Pembrokeshire in Narberth.

Since then, Marc has experience of working in the public and third sectors in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, as well as running his own business.

Marc is keen to share his experience for the benefit of the local community. He has established a community media project, Cleddau Radio in Pembroke Dock, run a local organisation in West Carmarthenshire and South Pembrokeshire providing respite care to children from the Chernobyl nuclear zone and sits as a Trustee on the Board of the Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services.

36-year-old local dad Marc lives with his partner Sarah and three children in the heart of the constituency, where he says it is a great place to raise his family.  As his children all attend local schools, he understands the importance of investment in education and skills.

Marc is an active campaigner for local health services, the environment,  tackling poverty and creating better job opportunities in West Wales. He has already used his experience and skills to secure local public services, engage with the community to improve access to health services and has spoken up fearlessly on the issues that matter to local people.

Cafodd Marc Tierney ei fagu yn Sir Gaerfyrddin ac mae’n falch o gynrychioli etholaeth ei gartref yng Ngorllewin Caerfyrddin a De Sir Benfro.

Bu’n byw am gyfnod yn Iwerddon cyn astudio ym Mhrifysgol Bryste ac yna dychwelyd adref i Orllewin Cymru i dderbyn swydd reoli yn Radio Sir Benfro yn Arberth.

Ers hynny, mae Marc wedi cael profiad o weithio yn y sector cyhoeddus a’r trydydd sector yn Sir Gaerfyrddin a Sir Benfro, yn ogystal â rhedeg ei fusnes ei hun.

Mae Marc yn awyddus i rannu ei brofiad er budd y gymuned leol.  Mae wedi sefydlu prosiect y cyfryngau cymunedol, Radio Cleddau yn Noc Penfro, wedi rhedeg sefydliad lleol yng Ngorllewin Sir Gaerfyrddin a De Sir Benfro yn darparu gofal seibiant i blant o barth niwclear Chernobyl ac mae’n Ymddiriedolwr ar Fwrdd Cymdeithas Gwasanaethau Gwirfoddol Sir Benfro.

Mae Marc, sydd yn dad 36 oed, yn byw gyda’i bartner Sarah a’u tri o blant yng nghanol yr etholaeth a dywed ei fod yn lle gwych i fagu teulu.  Gan fod ei blant i gyd yn mynychu ysgolion lleol, mae’n deall pwysigrwydd buddsoddi mewn addysg a sgiliau.

Mae Marc yn ymgyrchydd brwd dros wasanaethau iechyd lleol, yr amgylchedd, trechu tlodi a chreu cyfleoedd gwell am swyddi yng Ngorllewin Cymru. Mae eisoes wedi defnyddio ei brofiad a’i sgiliau i sicrhau gwasanaethau cyhoeddus lleol, ymgysylltu â’r gymuned i wella mynediad i wasanaethau iechyd ac mae wedi siarad yn ddi-flewyn-ar-dafod am y materion sy’n bwysig i bobl leol.
