Biography: Carolyn Harris was born and raised in Swansea. She began her working life aged 16 at the DVLA, followed by jobs as a dinner lady, barmaid and in a school for children with special needs. After university in her 30s, she worked for charities and in local politics.

Ever the campaigner, in under 3 years as an MP Carolyn has proved herself a champion for change, winning victories on a children’s funeral fund and leading national campaigns on gambling reform, pension justice for women and home appliance safety. Carolyn has also loyally served on Labour’s frontbench team since 2015.

Biography: Julie has lived in or around Cardiff all her life, apart from attending London and Manchester Universities. She qualified as a social worker, and worked in child protection in Cardiff and with young people in Swansea.

She was a Cardiff Councillor for 12 years, an MP for 13 years and now an Assembly Member for over 6 years, elected with the largest number of Labour votes in Wales.

Julie is a champion of equality and human rights, being a founder member of the Welsh Refugee Council and a trustee of Life for African Mothers. Julie is a life-long trade unionist and Vice President of City Hospice.

Mae Julie wedi treulio ei holl fywyd yng Nghaerdydd a'r cyffiniau, oni bai am gyfnod ym Mrifysgolion Llundain a Manceinion. Cymhwysodd fel gweithiwr cymdeithasol, a bu'n gweithio ym maes diogelu plant yng Nghaerdydd a chyda phobl ifanc yn Abertawe.

Bu'n Gynghorydd Caerdydd am 12 mlynedd, AS am 13 mlynedd ac yn awr yn AC ers dros 6 mlynedd. Fe'i hetholwyd gyda'r nifer uchaf o bleidleisiau Llafur yng Nghymru.

Mae Julie yn ymgyrchydd dros gydraddoldeb a hawliau dynol. Mae’n un o sylfaenwyr Cyngor Ffoaduriaid Cymru ac yn ymddiriedolwyr i’r elusen Bywyd i Famau Affricanaidd. Mae Julie yn undebwr llafur gydol oes ac yn Is-lywydd Hosbis y Ddinas.
