Welsh Labour General Election: candidate selection 2017

Following the calling of a snap General Election for June 8th, the Welsh Executive Committee met (20.4.17) to agree a timetable and procedure for the selection of Welsh Labour’s election candidates.

The Welsh Executive Committee endorsed the 25 sitting MPs as candidates who all confirmed they are again standing for election.

The Welsh Executive Committee also invited members of the Labour Party to submit applications in the form of a standard CV if they wished to be considered as candidates in the 15 vacant seats in Wales. The deadline for applications was 5pm on Monday 24th April.

A panel of WEC members has since assessed all the applications received and today announces the candidates for the 15 vacant seats in Wales.

There are now Welsh Labour candidates in place in every seat in Wales.
