The Tories
The Tories' damaging Universal Credit policy is leaving people in has clearly led to this sharp rise.

Carolyn Harris, Deputy Leader of Welsh Labour, responding to new figures published by the Trussell Trust which show the steepest increase in people needing food banks in the past five years, said:

“These shocking figures show the truly devastating impact nearly a decade of Tory austerity has had on communities across Wales.

The Welsh Labour Government are doing everything they can to support people struggling with rising debt and squeezed incomes. But the precarious position the Tories’ damaging Universal Credit policy is leaving people in has clearly led to this sharp rise.

A UK Labour Government will scrap Universal Credit and end food bank use within three years. The fact the Tories won’t promise to do the same tells you all you need to know about where their priorities lie.”
