Nominated by Aberconwy CLP, Alyn & Deeside CLP, Arfon CLP, Clwyd South CLP and Ynys Môn CLP
Having represented you on the WEC for the last four years (and through tenacity and loyalty shown by our membership) our voices are getting heard clearer. I wish, and would be honoured, to continue representing you; equipped with invaluable experiences.
I love our North Wales home. I know of the challenges facing communities; many I’ve experienced personally. That’s why I became politically involved - to help people. People like you and me. People who I represent as a Flintshire County Councillor.
Let us stay strong to our Labour principles; championing the message of hope. Let us continue - together.
Nominated by Aberconwy CLP, Arfon CLP, Clwyd South CLP, Vale of Clwyd CLP and Ynys Môn CLP
A lifelong socialist, one of my top priorities will be to help protect public services from the increased onslaught we can now expect from the Tories.
I currently represent North Wales members on the WEC and will continue to seek further Party democratisation, to improve members’ involvement in Welsh Labour decision and policy making.
We must also make more progress on the WEC towards openness, equality and fairness for members, so I would like to continue my work on this. I would also like to press further for my suggestion of a cultural review of the Labour Party in Wales.
Jabez Andrew Oakes
Nominated by Clwyd West CLP
If elected my intention is simple. I would seek to reestablish, empower and democratise Local Campaign Forums across North Wales. LCFs allow local members to be involved in local campaigns for County and Community Councils. It will ensure that we have in place candidates for as many seats as possible and have a network of coordinated ongoing campaigns. It would also allow us to build a profile for a current sitting councillors and spread the good and essential work they are doing. Localising our campaign will bring us closer to the voters and build a base for national campaigns.
Nominated by Alyn & Deeside CLP, Clwyd West CLP and Vale of Clwyd CLP
Since joining the party almost 20 years ago, the last few have been the most tumultuous. We now need a clear vision of how we retain our Labour votes and build on the successes of our Welsh government.
As your executive representative, I will ensure your concerns and hopes are relayed to the committee, that you have reports after every meeting and your voice is heard. I am currently a delegate to the Welsh Policy Forum, CLP secretary and served on the Welsh Executive 2014/2016. I want to see a united party going forward to the 2021 Senedd elections.
MID & WEST WALES
Mid & West Wales covers the following CLPs: Brecon & Radnorshire, Carmarthen East & Dinefwr, Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Dwyfor Meirionnydd, Llanelli, Montgomeryshire, and Preseli Pembrokeshire.

A committed socialist I've been a Party member most of my adult life; holding many roles, currently secretary of my CLP. I'm also treasurer of UNITE NWW Community Branch.
Active in the One Member One Vote campaign for Leader/Deputy, my priorities for Welsh Labour would be:
- developing a progressive socialist manifesto to strengthen our Labour led Senedd in 2021
- delivering the democracy review ensuring that members are central
- supporting our leader Mark Drakeford
If privileged to be elected I would develop a relationship with Mid/West Wales CLP Officers, regularly reporting back to members. Please also support Ivan Monckton.
Nominated by Llanelli CLP
I'm standing to empower members and champion your voice on the Welsh Executive.
We need a modern, transparent, member-led Executive. I'll be campaigning for webcasting of meetings, more resources and support for our region and a socialist manifesto created by grassroots members, whilst reporting back regularly to members on our progress.
We need to unite to win across Mid and West Wales for the Senedd and Council elections. I will use my experience as a progressive Labour Councillor and Leader to work with CLPs to elect Welsh Labour in our area and bring about real change for the many.
Nominated by Llanelli CLP
Since joining the party, I have been a conscientious and hardworking member and am currently a County and Community councillor.
This is an important time for Welsh Labour, and we must fight to ensure that we have a strong socialist government in Cardiff for our communities ensuring we can maintain a better, fairer way forward than the rest.
I realise the scale of the work ahead of us and would welcome the opportunity to serve on the WEC to add my voice, alongside yours, attending each regional CLP to report back on WEC activities.
Nominated by Brecon & Radnorshire CLP, Ceredigion CLP, Dwyfor Meirionnydd CLP and Montgomeryshire CLP
As an activist for 40 years in the Labour Party and 45 years in TGWU/Unite from shop steward to Executive, I know the importance of a strong socialist working class voice in our movement.
I also know the difficulties we face in Wales after the General Election. The Party will need to work with and listen to members, especially in our huge, mostly rural region.
I have been a supporter of Corbyn, Drakeford and OMOV, and would be a fearless plain speaking WEC representative reporting back on a regular basis.
Please vote for me and my colleague Chris Hardacre.
Nominated by Carmarthenshire West & South Pembrokeshire CLP and Preseli Pembrokeshire CLP
I am a committed member of the Party. A campaigner for the environment, the NHS and the economy. I am a CLP postholder and former election candidate.
With your support once again, I will be the voice you can trust to represent you and the region, ready to listen to your ideas and act upon them.
I will continue to:
- Fight for the resources we need to win for our communities
- Support CLPs and their candidates in forthcoming elections
- Speak up for all in the Party in stage 2 of the democracy review
Please use your vote. Re-elect Marc Tierney.
SOUTH WALES WEST
South Wales West covers the following CLPs: Ogmore, Bridgend, Aberavon, Neath, Swansea East, Swansea West, and Gower.
Nominated by Aberavon CLP and Bridgend CLP
I am seeking election to the WEC as I believe the knowledge, skills and experience I have will provide positive contribution to the work of the WEC. I believe it is important that WEC is made up of people from a diverse spectrum of Welsh society. People who offer different perspectives to stimulate debate and create positive conditions for informed decision making. I am driven by a set of core values and principles that resonate completely with Welsh Labours. Everyone must be treated equally, with respect and dignity. We must listen to people’s concerns and have policies to address them.
Nominated by Aberavon CLP, Bridgend CLP, Neath CLP, Swansea East CLP and Swansea West CLP
I am seeking your vote to be your VOICE on the WEC. I will listen, advocate and represent your views to the WEC.
I am honoured to be endorsed by Grassroots/Momentum.
I am a socialist and trade unionist. We now need unity in our Party to rebuild and back our leader.
I feel we the grassroots members need to be heard by the WEC. We have increased our membership over the last 2 years and your voice should be heard.
I would be grateful for your continued support as YOUR voice on the WEC.
PLEASE VOTE FOR MARK FISHER.
Nominated by Neath CLP, Swansea East CLP and Swansea West CLP
As a nurse and Health Visitor, I understand poverty, the daily struggles people experience! A Branch chair and LCF delegate. A committed trade unionist and delegate on behalf of Unite the Union I attend CLP and the Executive. I have been fortunate to attend Unite's political schools which were inspiring. A member of SLL and a delegate to WLG Steering Group.
A Councillor and Cabinet Member for Better Communities (People) with deep rooted socialist principles, this spurs me on to tackling inequalities and social injustices. I believe my background will allow me to contribute effectively to the WEC.
Nominated by Ogmore CLP
I have been active throughout the region since joining the party at the age of 17. I have and will continue to campaign in all our seats. It is important that we promote the Welsh Labour brand which has been successful in Wales since 1999 and that we fight for more party resources to be allocated in Wales and our area. I am a regular attender at Labour Party events.
I have a particular interest in equality, encouraging and empowering people to be better represented within the Labour Party. I am keen to represent all party members new & old.

Nominated by Rhondda CLP
Our members are our most important asset, that’s why I believe we should always be at the heart of everything that the Labour Party does.
My aim if elected would be to ensure that members are properly consulted and involved in our decision-making process and that it's made as simple and easy as possible for members to get actively involved in everything that we do. I am branch secretary of Treherbert Labour Party, a Unite shop steward and have been an election candidate, I would welcome your support. Please feel free to contact me on 07972103964. Cheers, Scott.
Nominated by Cardiff Central CLP and Cardiff South & Penarth CLP
I joined the Labour Party 40 years ago to fight injustice and inequality - and I’ve not stopped since. We have achieved so much together, but the Tory win in December was a hammer blow. That’s why it’s so vital we win the Welsh Assembly elections in May. As your voice on the WEC, I’ll fight for the training, support and funding we need to deliver a Welsh Labour Government. I’ll provide feedback from all WEC meetings, never forget I’m your representative. I am a GMB and Co-op member, former Labour Organiser and a co-founder of a Rugby Supporters Trust.
Nominated by Cardiff Central, Cardiff North CLP and Cardiff South & Penarth CLP
My name is Jackie Jones and I am standing to become a representative on the WEC.
I believe I have the qualities and experience to represent members' views. I have been a member of the Party for many years, getting involved campaigning throughout the year & at election time. Within the Party, I have held several roles, including women's officer, delegate to (special) conference and branch rep. I've stood in local council & European elections. As MEP, I sat on the WEC last year so I have first-hand experience. ***Never afraid to speak my mind or represent members' views***
Nominated by Cynon Valley CLP

As Chair of Cynon Valley CLP I've noticed a disconnect between CLPs and the Welsh Labour Party. I feel I have the necessary skills in bridging that.
Furthermore, as there is no designated seat for people with disabilities (despite other equality strands being represented) I feel my presence would bring a voice for people with disabilities to Welsh Labour, something that can often be missed.
I am a passionate person who cares about our communities and wants to see them prosper and strengthen. If you would like to know more please get in touch.
Nominated by Rhondda CLP
A Labour Party member for 21 years I am the Secretary of both the Rhondda CLP, my local branch and the Rhondda Cynon Taf Local Campaign Forum.
A former UNISON activist, I enjoy campaigning, working as part of a team and believe that we need to rejuvenate our local organisations and encourage members to become more involved, to make the party more relevant and interesting.
I hope to have the opportunity to represent South Wales Central.
I would welcome your support if you wish to know more please contact me on 07973 889229
Nominated by Cardiff North CLP and Cardiff West CLP
After the devastating General Election result, we need sober reflection, not kneejerk reactions. Our policies were credible but overshadowed by Brexit. I'm proud to have actively supported Jeremy Corbyn's leadership from the beginning, and that of Mark Drakeford. Under Labour, Wales remains a beacon of hope but faces increasing challenges. The party needs greater democracy and inspiring socialist leadership. As a WEC and NEC member since 2016, I've sought to empower members and helped lead the successful campaign for OMOV. My reports are here www.darrenwilliams.org.uk. I'm happy to address party meetings and raise members' concerns. Please also vote for Sophie.
Nominated by Cardiff West CLP, Cynon Valley CLP and Pontypridd CLP
I've been active in the Labour party from the age of 16 and have consistently campaigned for socialist policies and member-led democracy. I am currently Secretary both of Cardiff West CLP and of the Cardiff Local Campaign Forum, as well as representing members across Wales on the National Policy Forum. I'm proud to have co-ordinated the campaign that secured OMOV for Welsh Labour leadership elections but we need to do much more to strengthen transparency and accountability within the party and I would seek to take this forward as a member of the WEC. Please also vote for Darren.
SOUTH WALES EAST
South Wales East covers the following CLPs: Monmouth, Newport East, Newport West, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Islwyn, and Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney.
Nominated by Newport East CLP
I was first elected to be a CLP representative in 2018. As a member of the Party Development Board of the WEC I scrutinised party policy and procedure prior to its adoption. In addition, I have overseen two parliamentary selections.
As an experienced CLP Secretary, I want to continue to be part of our ruling body and help influence future priorities, especially with three important elections on the horizon. With an increased vote for the Tories coming from our traditional Labour areas it's vital we examine and understand the reasons for this and then work together to turn this around.
Nominated by Monmouth CLP
I have represented South East Wales members on the WEC since 2018 and am the BAME representative for Monmouth CLP. Like many others, I re-joined Labour in 2015, after a period outside the party, to help promote a socialist policy agenda and the radical potential of devolution. We need to encourage the active participation of Labour’s expanded membership, through greater democracy. I believe the party must consistently value the input of grassroots members, not just at election times, and learn from their ideas. I am a member of Welsh Labour Grassroots/Momentum. Please vote for both me and for Kate Thomas.
Nominated by Newport West CLP
As a Labour party member since the 1990s, I've been a longstanding campaigner for socialism and am a member of Welsh Labour Grassroots. I was elected as a Newport councillor 7 years ago and am Newport's Vulnerable People's Champion and a Fairness Commissioner.
I value our members' input and their active participation and, if I become your WEC representative, am committed to giving you a voice in shaping the Party's direction. I have a strong commitment to Labour's socialist values and to the delivery of progressive policies to benefit citizens, workers and future generations. Please support me and Gill Parsons.
Nominated by Newport East CLP and Newport West CLP
Being a Campaign Manager in Newport West CLP for over 10 years has taught me that being relevant to the people we represent is crucial to our movement. Our links with our Trade Union colleagues critical for those in work. That without power we let the Tories paint their own bleak political canvas, harming those we fight for. I would love to represent South Wales East members for the next 2 years, being part of a WEC shaping the next Welsh Assembly election where we seek to re-engage those voters who could not support us this time. Please support me.
