Welsh Labour today (Friday 30th April) premiered their final Senedd election broadcast. The film, “If you value it, vote for it”, brings their last seven-day election message to life with people across Wales sharing what they love about our country.

The “If you value it, vote for it” strapline was first unveiled on Monday, ahead of a nationwide digital and newspaper ad campaign. The positive message seems to be hitting home, with more people coming home to Labour – though the Tory threat remains all too real.

The film fuses two decades of Welsh Labour achievements in Government with a bold offer for the next Senedd term, the film also features Welsh Labour’s leadership team of Mark Drakeford and Carolyn Harris.

Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister Mark Drakeford said:

“This Senedd election truly is unlike any other. It is not just Welsh Labour’s pledge for a jobs-led recovery on the ballot paper, but the very fabric of the country we have built together over the past twenty years.

“These pledges need a Welsh Labour Government to deliver them, and these achievements need a Welsh Labour Government to protect them.

“Our new film makes it clear that whether it’s creating thousands of new jobs or free prescriptions, the successful vaccine roll-out or building new schools and hospitals – if you value it, you have to vote for it.”

Welsh Labour Deputy Leader Carolyn Harris said:

“There are occasions when a campaign really hits home, bringing to life how much we have achieved together and what is at stake. I felt that watching our new election broadcast – and if I’m being honest, I had a bit of a lump in my throat by the end.

“Our message – “If you value it, vote for it” – is rooted in Welsh Labour traditions, and brought to life brilliantly by people across Wales. And I’m sure it will give everyone who wants a Welsh Labour government a new lease of energy to get out and campaign for one.

“I’ll be out across Wales every day between now and May 6th banging the drum for our Welsh Labour Government and with every poll showing the danger that the Tories pose at this election, our message is crystal clear – if you value the things that Welsh Labour have done for you, your family and your community, you need to get out and vote to them.”
