After 14 long years of Conservative failure on the economy, Britain needs change. The Tories crashed the economy – taxes up, prices up, living standards down – and working people are still paying the price.

Labour has a plan to get Britain back on its feet. Your Welsh Labour Government is already building a stronger, greener Welsh economy based on the principles of fair work and sustainability, and with a Labour government in Westminster we can go even further. A UK Labour government will deliver growth across the UK, with everything we do built on the rock of economic responsibility.

Families in Wales are paying the price for Tory failure on energy bills. UK household budgets have been hit harder by the energy crisis than any major advanced country.

Only Labour has a plan to cut bills, create jobs and deliver British energy security once and for all. A UK Labour government will turbo-charge plans already underway in Wales to invest in renewable energy infrastructure and ensure that energy profits created in Wales, stay in Wales.

Modernising our NHS

In spite of 14 years of Tory misrule – including the devastating impact of a decade of austerity – Welsh Labour has continued to invest in and protect health and social care in Wales.

Your Welsh Labour Government has kept prescriptions free for everyone in Wales, ensured better and faster access to new treatments via the groundbreaking New Treatment Fund and is investing in the NHS workforce of the future. With a UK Labour government in Westminster, we will continue to prioritise spending on health and care services.

Training record numbers of doctors and nurses and protecting free prescriptions for all.

More services through your GP and pharmacy, speeding up access and freeing up hospital pressures.

Opening a new medical school in North Wales.

Making our streets safe

The Tories cannot be trusted to keep our communities safe. On their watch neighbourhood policing has been hollowed out and over 90% of crimes are going unsolved, leaving more and more criminals to walk free and victims without justice.

Labour believes that feeling secure is the bedrock on which opportunities are built, and that is why a UK Labour government will put in place our serious plan to make Wales’ streets safe – halving serious violent crime within a decade, tackling antisocial behaviour and putting more police on the beat.

Tackling all forms of violence against women and girls, wherever it happens.

Break down barriers to opportunity

Be it investing in the biggest new school and college building programme since the 1960s, or continuing to deliver our long-standing commitment to provide free school breakfasts for all primary school pupils, Welsh Labour is committed to unlocking opportunity for all in Wales.
